Resolution Update: Jillian Michaels And Blogging

30 Jan

January is almost over and its time for a resolution update.  By this time people are still kicking ass with their resolutions, but with Valentine’s Day just around the corner it won’t be long before people start falling off the bandwagon. I will not be one of those people. I am determined to keep my streak going strong and all you readers are my accountability buddies.

Thus far, I have managed to blog every day. There have been the good, the bad and the ugly, but it got done.  There are days where blogging feels like a chore, although those days are few and far between.  I still haven’t quite figured out where I want this blog to go, but for now, I like where it is.  I enjoy writing about something different everyday.  I love reading other blogs. Oh, and to my surprise people actually like what I have to say.  It makes my day so much more enjoyable because I look forward to blogging.

unfortunately, there is one thing I don’t really look forward to. The dreaded workout. Recently, my sweet mother gave me the Eliptical she purchased a few months ago on a whim.  I’ve been so happy to have it because I don’t really live in the best neighborhood for me to run or walk alone.  The other wonderful thing about the Eliptical-Jillian Michaels talks to me the whole way through.  It’s a great program that kicks my butt every time I get on the machine.  Up to this point, it hasn’t been so dreadful.  I’ve begun to really enjoy working out.  I like to put on RENT or The Best Little Whore House In Texas and stride along with my favorite show tunes.  Now, because of my new-found enjoyment and yummy fruits and veggies I have lost almost 10 pounds!

Thus far, 2011 has been good to me.  I am proud of what I have accomplished in the short time.  I just hope to keep it going.  With the support of my wonderful partner and my readers I will reach my goals!

Smallville Was Cancelled This Week…WTF??

29 Jan

This is my vent session.  I suppose it’s good that the only thing that I really want to vent about is the fact that my favorite show ever was pushed back one more week.  I’m sure it sounds silly, but I would rather vent about something that won’t really affect me in the long run as opposed to something that I probably will always be angry about, like our government.  But, I’m not going to go there.  I want to keep my vent somewhat light-hearted.

As I have mentioned in an earlier post, I love Smallville.  Addicted really.  The first season is on my TV now as background noise.  Quick synopsis: Smallville is about the early days of Clark Kent.  He is trying to discover who he is and what destiny has in store for him.  If you have never seen it, but love Superman, I suggest you watch it,  You won’t be disappointed.

Anyways, Smallville took a holiday hiatus and after six weeks of much anticipation the CW network decided to pull it at the last-minute and push it back one more week.  I was infurriated, as was the rest of my household (Paige and Layla).  This is the one show we all sit down and watch as a family.  We are so dedicated in fact that the rest of our friends and family know on Fridays from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. we are not to be bothered.  Unless in extreme cases of emergency.  Not kidding.

We still don’t know the reason CW cancelled Smallville  last night.  Some say it was because American Idol was on and they didn’t want Smallville to lose viewers because of it.  FYI: Smallville fans are completely dedicated to Smallville.  Most fans have watched since the show started 10 years ago.  Yes, ten years!  Just because some silly talent show (don’t get me wrong I love American Idol, but that’s a later post) is on TV doesn’t mean fans will just stop watching.  Especially after 6 weeks of previews and hype about the amazing new episode.

Fans were outraged.  I checked out discussion boards on Facebook and people were pissed.  I understand.  It was like a slap in the face and they only reported the cancellation about 15 hours before the show was supposed to air. I’m not so angry about it now.  One more week and my beloved show will be back, but my heart was crushed for a moment by CW’s lack of compassion.

Living Forever

28 Jan

Living forever means always having to say good-bye.  Think about it.  If you lived forever you would have to watch everyone you care about pass on.  Personally, I don’t want to live like that.  I don’t think I could live day-to-day knowing that eventually every person I get close to will die at some point. My heart breaks even thinking about.  To live in a state of constant grieving would be unbearable.

Then I think about what really cool stuff could happen.  It would be amazing to see the changes in the world. I could see the day when there is a cure for AIDS.  I could see a flying car.  Artificial Intelligence could be a way of life (which I still think is kind of creepy). The possibilities are endless.

A world of possibilities is what helps make the world go round.  It still brings me back to being alone.  Living forever means I wouldn’t have anyone with whom I could share those possibilities.  I can’t do that. I must have people in my life.  I must have connections.  Living forever would make connections impossible.  I would rather die knowing I made connections and shared experiences.

Unless of course I was a vampire in The Twilight Saga-yes, I went there….

Quacks and Scammers Continued

26 Jan

Quick update! I had 3 legitimate interviews today and they all went very well!  Woot woot!  Hopefully something will come of them.  Now on to the scammers.

Yesterday I told you about all the scammers I’ve encountered and most of them I have spotted easily.  Although, I got caught off guard by one.  When I responded to this particular scammer’s ad, it seemed legitimate at first.  I was responding to an actual Yahoo e-mail account and not some random website.  So I thought.  I received and e-mail back state that the weekly wage was $785.  That is A LOT of money for a weeks worth of work.  They asked for some basic info, name address, and the like, which is pretty harmless because its public information for the most part.  I went ahead and sent the info also stating I had a few questions.  Apparently, that didn’t matter to the scammer.

Today I received this e-mail:

Here is your first assignment.  The funds for the donation has been sent and you will be getting it today ” 26-01-2011 ” via FedEx courier service here is the tracking number( 875091406541    ). The payment was sent to your home address so ensure you stay at home so you can sign the for the delivery of the package.
I contacted the orphanage home, and I was given the list of the items to be bought, the items are much and will cost a lot to get them shipped, so we have reached an accord. They will be getting the items themselves all you need do is just to receive the money, have it cashed at your bank  and have the funds sent via western union money transfer to the orphanage home. Remember to deduct your first week salary from it and send the rest money to Orphanage

Below is the Orphanage Western Union information to send the funds..

I really didn’t think much of it because I had 3 interviews today.  Once I got home, low an behold there was a Fed-Ex envelope addressed to me.  I opened it up and the only thing in there was a cashier’s check for $2,650.  Who on earth sends a check in that amount (or any amount for that matter) without even seeing their face.  It just seemed off.  I decided to do some research and I’ve made an executive decision to say that this is a scam.  When I Googled the name on the check I was refered to a website all about different scams with this person’s name.  I most certainly did not cash the check, although I wish I could.  Instead, I reported the incident to the FBI and hopefully my information will help stop all the garbage.
I wasn’t kidding when I said I would help take down the scammers.  Now the fun begins!
If you think you have been scammed or know some one who has you can report it to the FBI here.

Job Hunting Is Just Quacks and Scammers

25 Jan

I have been unemployed for over a year-at my choosing. I know, it was stupid to quit a perfectly good job in this economy, but there were some conflicts of interest with where I was working and I needed to quit before things got out of hand. It was okay for a while-the unemployment thing. Paige and I were actually living and doing things, things that weren’t possible while I was working. Now its time to re-enter the work force, but it’s extremely discouraging.

If you were to check my Sent Mail in my google account you would see that I have sent out at least 50 resumes. You would think out of those 50 I would have gotten at least one interview. Nope, not one. For every 10 resumes I send out approximately 3 or less (depending on the day) are actually legit. The others are all scammers and quacks. These are the e-mails I get back .

Pay for this position: 12.50 – 14.50 per hour (we will decide eventual pay during the interview reliant on experience)
Our hiring process is almost concluded. We only request for you to finish a straightforward IQ(Intelligence Quotient) test to show the H.R manager.

Please complete our IQ Test HERE.

We do require that you get a copy of your credit report. In order to reply to us with your resume you have to complete first your credit score : Think Credit Reports

As soon as you obtain your credit report i recommend you email us so that we can send you your application. After your application is received I will call you to plan a face to face job interview.

You must confirm that you will bring the following requirements to your final interview:

A) Proof of age (drivers license or state ID only)
B) Mobile phone
C) Current credit report

You must perform the credit check here for no cost.

We will not accept any other credit reports as this is the most accurate and we require a current report.  Print it out and bring it with to your interview.  Your credit score can not be used against you but will help determine which possition you are best qualified to interview for.

While you are running errands, you will also be given one of our company credit card(s) for all business purchases.
My company will require that you acquire a recent (past 14-21 business days) credit report.
We started this because our company had some bad incidents with prior employees taking advantage of having
access to a company credit card.

We are prepared to set up an interview time for you but you have not submitted one of the items
necessary to satisfy the pre-interview requirements. We show you have not completed your credit report
which all candidates must submit before scheduling an interview. We are trying to
complete the schedule for these interviews immediately so please finish the report now so your
record is complete.

Perform the credit check here

There is no cost for the trial and we have found they do have the most accurate score.

We pay $15 and hour, biweekly, and payments are issued via Paypal.
You can work part or full time and there are no charges to apply,
however, you Must be 18 years of age or older.
The position is telecommuting, so a computer with internet access is required.

Seriously? You want my credit score (not report), an identity check, or an IQ test? Those are things legitimate companies can get on their own, and unless I see someone’s office and can confirm their company’s legitimacy, you won’t get shit from me.

I understand that it’s the scammers “job” to scam, but how can you live with yourself? How can you go day-to-day scamming innocent people who have fallen on hard time just looking to catch a break? What happened to morals and doing what’s right? This needs to come to a stop and it needs to be now. I’m one of the few who can recognize a scam when I see it, and I feel like I need to start calling these people out. There has to be a way to stop all the nonsense!

I’m going to make it my mission to put a stop to these scamming assholes and hunt them down and annihilate their companies. Okay, so annihilate is a little harsh. Maybe I will just publicly humiliate them. This could be fun…
